Piece Story

Jinyuan

Rouge-dusted snow.
The melon-ribbed segments run vertically from the lid to the belly, like a closed folding fan; the rim of the lid features a wavy line, creating an intriguing contrast between the horizontal and vertical lines of the melon ribs. The "Rouge-Grey" Duan clay is a blend of Duan clay and Zisha clay, exhibiting a grey hue with hints of purple, a restrained sandy texture, a solid body with excellent breathability, and a color that deepens over time with use. Liu Hao is known for his skill in carving, appliqué, and sculpting, yet this pot uses simplicity as its adornment, speaking through the color of the clay and the clean lines—truly, it takes a master of intricate detail to craft a piece of such elegant simplicity.
Best for: Raw Pu'er, light-aroma Oolong, and white tea.
Ideal for: Those who appreciate greyish-purple tones and emphasis on form and line.
