Piece Story

One Seal

The Universe in a Seal.
The pot is square and upright like a seal, tapering at the top and bottom—a style known as "a single seal." The body is adorned with an engraved scene of ancients in conversation, rendered in a simple and minimalist style, accompanied by small inscriptions. The knob is carved in the shape of an openwork coin, exuding an unmistakable scholarly aura. Wang Guoxin is renowned for his square-shaped vessels, openwork techniques, and marbled clay artistry. Having been mentored by masters such as Gu Shaopei, Wang Yinxian, and Gu Daorong, his hand-built joinery is seasoned and masterful—the square-seal body displays perfectly defined edges and planes, a true hallmark of his signature craft.
Best for brewing: Pu-erh, Rock Oolong, and Oolong teas.
Ideal for: Those who appreciate the aesthetic of epigraphic carvings and the refined spirit of scholarly teapots.
