Piece Story

Lotus Delight

Listening to the Rain on the Lotus Leaf.
The teapot body is spread out like a lotus leaf, with the lid’s radiating fluting mimicking veins; a small frog perches upon the lid, as if sensing the coming rain, poised to leap—its short spout and circular handle full of natural charm. Crafted from blue duan clay—a variety of duan clay with a higher green clay content, characterized by its granular texture, fine body, and a color reminiscent of the sky after rain—it is best suited for light-colored teas. Dai Zhihua studied under Ma Jinghui and Zhou Hui, and in 2010 established the "Qi·Yan" studio, emphasizing literati aesthetics—this frog and leaf perfectly capture the refined pleasure of a scholar's desk.
Best for: Green tea, Biluochun, light-aroma Oolong.
Recommended for: Those with a youthful heart who appreciate the refined pleasures of a desk accessory.
